Man dies in fatal hit-and-run collision in Woodland

A 44-year-old man from Kalama died in a deadly hit-and-run collision in Woodland on Thursday morning after the automobile he was in was struck by one other driver, misplaced management and ended up in Horseshoe Lake. 

A Washington State Patrol memo acknowledged Leonel D. Lopez Tello was southbound within the center lane of Interstate 5 close to milepost 21 when one other automobile moved into his lane and struck his automobile. 

Lopez Tello reportedly misplaced management of his automobile, crossed the correct lane and the correct shoulder of the highway earlier than his 2006 Toyota Corolla went roughly 30 ft down an embankment and thru a chainlink fence. The automobile continued throughout Lake Shore Drive, then struck the farside guard rail and have become airborne, acknowledged WSP. 

Lopez Tello’s automobile landed on the financial institution and appeared to roll into Horseshoe Lake. The automobile got here to relaxation on its roof and was principally submerged.

WSP acknowledged Lopez Tello was carrying a seatbelt on the time of the accident. 

No description of the second automobile was included in WSP’s memo. The reason for the accident is at present below investigation. It’s unknown if medicine or alcohol had been concerned, acknowledged WSP. 

The accident happened  at round 6:20 a.m. on Dec. 2.
